Meet the quick release buckle — it's on every LunaSol shoe, and most people have never seen one before. It looks like a normal buckle. It is not a normal buckle.
What Is a Quick Release Buckle?
It's a two-part closure: a buckle with a pin, and a small hook on the opposite side of the strap.
Instead of threading the pin through a hole every single time you put your shoes on, you set the pin once — to your fit — and then just slide the strap in and out of the hook.
It's borrowed straight from professional dance shoes, where it was invented for a very unglamorous reason: dancers need to change shoes in seconds backstage. No fumbling in the dark with a tiny pin.
How to Use It (Two Steps)
- Set the pin in the hole you want, just like a normal buckle. This is the step you only do once — it dials in your fit.
- Slide the strap into the hook. The buckle catches and holds everything in place.
To take them off, slide it back out. That's the whole thing.
Why It Actually Matters
Your shoe stays locked to your foot
Every LunaSol strap is fully adjustable for a reason. When the strap is dialed in to your ankle, you're not gripping with your toes to keep the shoe on, and you're not bracing for it to fly off mid-spin. You just dance.

One Styling Tip: Ankle Wrap or Foot Wrap
Because the strap is adjustable, you get to choose where it sits:
- Higher, around the ankle — a longer, leggier line. Great with a shorter dress.
- Lower, around the foot — a more locked-in feel. Great when you know you'll be on the floor all night.
Both are correct. Try both and see which one you keep reaching for.
